Catching up with our Critter Fans

It has been a while since we last posted. We have had a real good break in the weather here and have spent much of the last several days doing the many outside chores that had been put on hold with all of the rain.  Our Big Boy Mister is finally making some real progress.  On our walk last night he saw a live kitty in the walkway about 40 feet ahead and he did not react at all. He was able to focus on me & just turn around.  Kitty seemed unaware that the dog was even interested.  Our Merlin kitty has finally begun to be more social again. He has come in to hang out & sleep for three separate days last week.  We let him decide and he finally just waltzed in as if he had never left.  Our Bunny is thriving with the nice dry weather. Our Rosie is doing well.  She is thirteen years old and a part of our family here.  She was a rescue when a puppy about a year or so old. She keeps an eye out for the kitties and mothers them somewhat. A good mellow dog to get our kitties to accept dogs as friends. Our kitty therapy dog. She is getting the porch kitty to realize that some dogs are really not a threat, even big /giant dogs.  So, we have had some luck with donations for our outside kennel which we hope to purchase & have installed n time for spring weather.  We still intend to post a graph so that people can see where we are with the goals we are trying to reach.  We are also working to expand our Senior Assistance program to help Seniors keep their companions so they can have companionship and not be forced to choose between their needs or a pet.  So far we are helping two Seniors, but it is a start.  Well, critters chores are calling. Must go shop for food etc. as well as walk the dogs.
